Das Tal erstreckt sich \u00f6stlich der kubanischen Stadt Trinidad. 1988 wurde es vom <a href=\"https:\/\/en.unesco.org\/about-us\/introducing-unesco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Welterbe-Komitee der UNESCO<\/a> in die<a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/460\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Liste der Weltkulturerbest\u00e4tten<\/a> aufgenommen. Insgesamt 65 einzelne historische St\u00e4dten wie Zuckerm\u00fchlen, Kolonialh\u00e4user und Sklavenunterk\u00fcnfte wurden dabei ber\u00fccksichtigt.&nbsp;Eine bedeutende Attraktion ist der <strong>Torre de Iznaga<\/strong> im Zentrum des Tales, auch als <strong>Sklaventurm<\/strong> bekannt. Er diente der Beaufsichtigung der Sklaven auf den Zuckerrohrfeldern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1100\" height=\"619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.laszlo-photo.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kuba-46861-1100x619.jpg\" alt=\"Kuba-4686\" class=\"wp-image-14996\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.laszlo-photo.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kuba-46861-1100x619.jpg 1100w, https:\/\/www.laszlo-photo.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kuba-46861-1160x653.jpg 1160w, https:\/\/www.laszlo-photo.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kuba-46861.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Weg zum Turm ist ges\u00e4umt von Stra\u00dfenh\u00e4ndlerinnen die vorwiegend wei\u00dfe Textilien anbieten. Top-Qualit\u00e4t zu ad\u00e4quaten Preisen &#8211; aus westeurop\u00e4ischer Sicht. \u00dcbrigens: Vor dem Turm werden leckere Kokosn\u00fcsse angeboten. Die Kokosmilch ist wirklich der Hammer. Die Sklaven wurden von der Turmglocke im zur Arbeit gerufen und sie wurden auch von hier aus \u00fcberwacht. Unruhe und Ansammlungen der Sklaven, die in Aufst\u00e4nde m\u00fcnden k\u00f6nnten, sollten so von den Aufssehern fr\u00fch bemerkt werden. Heute gilt der siebenst\u00f6ckige Turm als Mahnmal.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"890\" src=\"https:\/\/www.laszlo-photo.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kuba-4690-650x890.jpg\" alt=\"Kuba-4690\" class=\"wp-image-14999\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.laszlo-photo.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kuba-4690-650x890.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.laszlo-photo.com\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kuba-4690.jpg 789w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Wer den Turm \u00fcber die engen, knirschenden Holztreppen besteigt, wird mit&nbsp;einem weiten Ausblick \u00fcber das Tal &#8222;Valle de los Ingenios&#8220; belohnt. Ein etwas mulmiges Gef\u00fchl stellt sich allemal ein, wenn man vom siebten Stock des Turms \u00fcber die Ebene blickt. Zum einen liegt das sicherlich am \u00fcberw\u00e4ltigendem Ausblick zum anderen aber an den nicht vorhandenen Sicherheitsvorkehrungen. Eine falsche Bewegung und ein Windsto\u00df gen\u00fcgen um neugierigen Besuchern die sich zu weit aus dem Turm lehnen einen ordentlichen Schreck einzujagen. In der westeurop\u00e4ischen Welt w\u00e4re der Turm aus Sicherheitsgr\u00fcnden gesperrt.
