Nachdem die Hoffnung auf Gold in den Fl\u00fcssen aufgegeben werden musste, wurde Trinidad zur Schmugglerstadt. Trinidad war die dritte spanische Siedlung\u00a0auf Kuba. Schon so mancher hat sich hier den Kn\u00f6chel verstaucht und an hochhackige Schuhe denken die Damen hier \u00fcberhaupt nicht. Man bef\u00fcrchtet, dass Touristen ausbleiben k\u00f6nnen, wenn man zu viel am Erscheinungsbild \u00e4ndert &#8211; und das Kopfsteinpflaster geh\u00f6rt eben dazu. Schnelle Fortbewegung ist in Trinidad ohnehin kein Thema. Im Gegensatz zu Havanna, werden die Kinder hier jedoch von Verwandten, bzw. Aufsichtspersonen von und zur Schule gebracht.
